Accor Stadium VIP Suite

We were directly engaged by Accor to manufacture and supply the furniture for the new VIP Suite at Accor Stadium. The brief was to have it completed in time for the first State of Origin game of the 2022 season.

Dezign worked closely with the Accor team to develop and manufacture a set of bespoke FFE which captured the relaxed luxury aesthetic while meeting their set budget. This included dining chairs, stools, and tables (both dining and bar height) and a series of low-slung banquette lounges.

American walnut veneer & stained solid timber with a range of distinct upholstery fabrics were coupled with faux stone and marmoleum tabletops edged in gold powder coated metal.

Despite the extremely tight programme the Dezign production team managed to deliver the project in time for the game, pity about the result for NSW though!

The Royal Hotel Moree

Following our two years of pandemic lockdowns and border closures Australia is finally rediscovering the joys of road trip holidays.

Consequently, Dezign has been busy working on regional projects across the eastern seaboard.

One such project; The Royal Hotel in Moree is about to receive a long overdue refurbishment from us and is due to reopen later this year.

Dezign’s in-house team is handling all aspects of the project including Design, FFE Procurement, FFE Manufacture and Construction (fitout and external works).

With an earthy colour palette and artwork reflecting the rich agricultural history of Moree this motel will make an impact as soon as guests open the door. It will certainly stand out from the typical ‘vanilla’ chain motel interiors travellers are accustomed to.

Slim’s Burgers Marrickville

The Slim’s Burgers brand developed by Landini Associates is a pop-art inspired homage to the American burger bars of the 1950’s.

Dezign worked closely with the Landini team and the builder, MMX to develop and manufacture a set of bespoke FFE which captured the retro design aesthetic of Slim’s Burgers Marrickville. This included authentic counter stools, diner style chairs and tables, and low-slung banquette seating.

A base palette of oak laminate wall panelling, timber batten ceiling and blue grey tiling to the service counter are accented with red in the banquette seating vinyl, chair & stool metal frames and the oversized chequerboard vinyl flooring.

Lightbox signage and menu boxes coupled with 50’s style napkin holders add to the familiarity and charm of this venue.

Mullane’s Hotel, Baulkham Hills

The Momento Hospitality team behind the Bella Vista and Governor hotels, which Dezign developed and manufactured bespoke FFE for, engaged us for the upmarket Mullane’s Hotel in Sydney’s The Hills district.

Named after Hills Shire long-time resident, councillor, and Shire president Bernard “Bernie Mullane it is a multi-faceted venue which includes an upmarket 120-seat Italian restaurant “Sarino’s”, a craft beer distillery, boutique public bar and “Sophia’s” cocktail bar.

Dezign worked closely with the Momento team to develop and manufacture an eclectic mix of FFE for Mullane’s diverse venues.

Harvey’s Hot Sandwiches

Inspired by retro American diners and Australia’s milk bars, Harvey’s Hot Sandwiches is a Quick Service Brand developed by Paul Kelly Design that plays on old world charm and nostalgia.

Dezign worked closely with the PKD team to develop and manufacture a set of bespoke FFE which captured the retro design aesthetic. This included authentic counter stools, diner style chairs and tables, and banquette seating.

Nickel metal finishes, formica wall panelling and lightbox menu boxes coupled with historical photographs of diners and milk bars further add to the familiarity and charm of this venue.

Kimpton Margot – Sydney

Housed in the magnificent art deco former Sydney Water Board building on the corner of Pitt and Bathurst Streets in Sydney, the Kimpton Margot Sydney boasts 172 rooms and suites.

This sees the debut of Kimpton, a luxury boutique IHG brand, in Australia.

Dezign were engaged by Owner Pro Invest to develop and manufacture several bespoke FFE items for the hotel including the iconic guestroom deco sofas.

Working under a tight project programme, as a local manufacturer, we managed to manufacture all items ahead of schedule, ensuring all milestone installation dates were met.

NoVacancy Hotel Room, Darling Harbour

The NoVacancy Hotel & Accommodation Expo & Conference is held annually in Sydney at the International Convention Centre.

In 2021 Dezign took an exhibition stand and designed and constructed a hotel room for it. We set about designing a contemporary room with spatial efficiency in mind; think small room footprint.

By integrating the bedhead, bedside tables, and seating into a singular element we could provide a generous curved seating area for guests to lounge, eat, or work.

We predominantly used natural finishes throughout, oak timber, tan leather, and natural rattan. A custom graphic wallpaper above the bed coupled with colourful throw cushion fabrics provided a visual overlay to the tonal base palette.

Lighting was a combination of bedside lamps and bedhead mounted reading lamps at the bed with a pendant light above the seating group table. A concealed LED strip light in the bedhead provided a soft glow to the graphic wallpaper and an ideal light to watch TV by.

The Gem Hotel, Griffith

Located on Banna Avenue in the heart of Griffith, The Gem Hotel is a cut above the usual regional hotel accommodation. This 4-star hotel boasts 65 rooms, a cocktail bar, sports bar and fine dining restaurant, Bull & Bell.

We were engaged by the owners to provide all the bespoke FFE for the public areas and rooms.

We worked closely with Paul Kelly Design on the public areas to ensure their design intent was met and we worked directly with the owners on the rooms FFE.

The result is a stylish and contemporary interior which a favourite haunt for both locals and visitors alike.

Atura Albury, Albury

Atura is the cool, budget lifestyle brand developed by longstanding client Event Hospitality, sort of the younger
sibling to their flagship QT brand.

We were engaged by Event to provide the FFE for the public areas and rooms.

Given the quirky nature of the brand, which is known for its eclectic mix of FFE in multiple finishes and colours all FFE
was bespoke. We developed and manufactured the FFE in our Sydney factory and warehoused and delivered it out
of our Albury facility to ensure programme milestones were met.
